Merry Meet

A Blessing/Dedication to the Goddess!

At the Goddess Temple we offer many services to our members and the community at large.  One of these services is the ritual of Wiccaning (baptism).  And this ritual is not reserved just for babies but for anyone of any age who desires to dedicate themselves to the Goddess!

(a sample of the ritual)

I,_________________, stand before this community and the Goddess seeking to dedicate myself to Her.  I promise that from this day forward I shall live my life in a way that honors Her.  My eyes will reflect Her, my lips will speak Her words, my heart will work with love from Her and my feet will follow the path She sets for me. I declare this is so, so mote it be! Blessed be!!

Respectfully,

Kathy Curran

Merry meet!

Why tithe to the Goddess Temple!?

I believe it is important to support where one is spiritually fed and this can be done either by volunteering your time, your talents, or donating money.  I believe that giving in this manner increases what is given to you!

The Goddess Temple is a grass roots fledgling enterprise and certainly benefits from all that support her.  We are engaged in fundraising events to finance a building for the Temple.

We are presently selling cloth shopping bags and travel mugs to raise funds. We will also have a spaghetti dinner this fall.  One of our new adventures is in creating a Goddess Calendar; this will be available in September.

As a founding Temple; we don’t have a ‘parent’ organization to assist with these goals.  We are solely dependent on our members!!

So, remember to give thanks back to the Goddess!

Respectfully,

Kathy Curran

Women get empowered at first on a personal level with the Goddess and Her spirituality, for example; perhaps by learning how to use herbs in a wise woman tradition,  and then they discover the need to take the next step of being able to publicly worship the Goddess.

The Goddess Temple is a place of Dianic Goddess worship; however, it is open to both women and men.  Because if we (women) do not teach the men to honor and worship the Divine Feminine, who will?  Part of our role is to aid in the re-awakening of the Goddess worship and empower women. At the Goddess Temple we worship the Goddess by retelling her stories; honoring Her with our devotions.  We hold space for her and her followers.  It began as a grass roots organization by a group of women and men who want to be a part of the Goddess movement.  We applied for and received our not-for-profit church status in 2007.  We hold services for each Sabbat on the Wheel of the Year.  We also hold a monthly full moon meditation and potluck.

An invitation to the Goddess Temple Full Moon Meditation and Potluck

Please consider yourselves invited to the Goddess Temple’s monthly Full Moon Meditation and Potluck.  This event is held monthly near or on the Full Moon and it is held at Goddess Blessed.  It is on a Tuesday evening at 7  p.m.

The Meditation is in the Temple/Reiki room at the store and is a self direct meditation.

The Potluck is immediately following and is a time of fellowship for Temple members and guests.

Please bring a covered dish to share.  Children are welcome to this event and need to be supervised by their parent/guardian.

Hope to see you at the next Meditation Service!

Respectfully,

Kathy Curran

What are some general guidelines for conduct at a Temple Ritual?

Please refrain from smoking and turn off your cell phone during Ritual. Even though we are outdoors, this is our Temple’s Sacred Space.

Show respect for the Goddess By:

                 Standing when all stand

                 No “chit-chat” during Ritual

Remember that not everyone is “out of the broom closet”.

What happens in Ritual stays in Ritual.

Do not ask personal questions of the participants.

Show respect for the others attending the Ritual.

All are invited to place items on the altar.

All are invited to participate in the drumming sessions.

How should I Prepare for Ritual?

Please dress to honor the Goddess.

Bear in mind that Rituals are held outdoors so dress appropriately for the weather.

Come to Ritual cleansed and prepared to honor the Goddess in Perfect Love and Perfect Trust.

Please come with an open mind and heart. All are welcome!

Please remember: this is our church and our sacred service to honor the Goddess!
